When going on a staycation it is all too easy to forget that you still need travel insurance to protect you against an unforeseen holiday disasters. Our specialist UK policy includes coronavirus cover as well as offering additional benefits that are tailored to domestic travel. This includes:

• Available on Single and Multi-Trip policies.

• We will pay up to £500 for the reimbursement of emergency call-out fees and labour charges including recovery to the nearest garage which are not covered by any other policy i.e. vehicle breakdown policy.

If you are an existing customer who purchased their policy between 14^th March 2020 and 24^th August 2020, all of our policies provide cover for:

• Emergency medical expenses if you contract COVID-19 during your trip.
• Cover for cancelling your trip if you are unfortunately made redundant after you booked your trip.

If you purchased a Diamond Single or Multi Trip policy on or after the 25^th August 2020, you will have:

• Cancellation cover if you, or anyone named on the policy, test positive for COVID-19 up to 14 days prior to travelling.
• Denied boarding cover if you, or anyone named on the policy, are refused entry on your return journey to the United Kingdom due to showing symptoms of COVID-19.

If you have purchased any policy on or after the 5th May 2021, you will have:

• Cancellation cover in the event that you have to isolate at home due to coronavirus.

If you have a Spectrum Single or Multi Trip policy, you can enjoy the following benefits:

• COVID cover available on all our products
• Emergency medical cover of up to £10 million per person
• Cancellation cover in the event that you have to isolate at home due to coronavirus
• Reimbursement of any pre-booked events or excursions, which you cannot recover from any other source if you need to cancel your trip

It is so important to protect your holiday against coronavirus and the best ways to do that are by; 1) staying up to date with government restrictions and 2) taking out a travel insurance policy which offers enhanced covid-19 cover.

Do keep in mind that when a policy covers coronavirus, this doesn’t mean in every scenario your claim would be approved. The policy wording explains in detail what can and cannot be covered – so read it thoroughly.

If you become unwell with coronavirus while you’re away, then we can cover up to £10 million in emergency medical expenses (as long as you haven’t travelled against the advice of the FCDO).

You can also get cover up to £5,000 should you or anyone else on the policy become unwell with coronavirus and need to return home early. Bear in mind that, should the country you’re visiting or returning to require quarantining after a positive test, then you would have to comply with these rules.

The price of travel insurance varies depending on where you’re going, how long for, how many people are on the policy and whether you want additional or higher cover levels. If you or anyone on your policy tests positive for coronavirus 14 days prior to departure, then we can offer cancellation cover.

If you have taken a Diamond policy with us, then we can cover up to £5,000 including:

• Transport charges
• Accommodation costs
• Foreign car hire
• Pre-paid excursions booked before you go on your trip

If you are already away, then unfortunately you cannot take out a policy with us, as we can only cover trips starting and ending in the UK.

If you are someone that goes away frequently and often forgets about travel insurance until you’re away, then taking out a Multi-Trip policy whilst still in the UK might be your best option. This covers you for an unlimited number of trips across a 12-month period, meaning you don’t have to take out a travel insurance policy every time you go away.

If you are offered an alternative destination and/or dates by your travel agent or tour operator and you have a Single Trip policy, then we can change the dates of your travel insurance policy to match the new trip, so long as it is in line with our policy term and conditions. We will not charge an admin fee for this, but please be aware that there may be an increase in cost, for example if you extend your trip length or change the geographical area that you are travelling to etc.

• If you are hospitalised, require medical treatment and are unable to fly.
